Warranty Information

For the 2010 model year, we are pleased to announce that our current Lifetime Powertrain Warranty (non-transferable) will be replaced by a fully transferable (with no fee) 5 year/100,000 Powertrain Limited Warranty .  This 5 year/100,000 Powertrain Limited Warranty stays on the vehicle, regardless of ownership.  Extensive consumer research and analysis indicates that overall, customers find more value in this new warranty.  The 5 year/100,000 Powertrain Limited Warranty covers the cost of all parts and labor needed to repair a covered powertrain component - gasoline engine, transmission and drive systems (FWD, AWD, RWD or 4WD).  No deductibles apply. This powertrain warranty covers the cost of towing a vehicle to the nearest authorized Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer if the vehicle cannot be driven because a covered powertrain component has failed during the coverage period.

Included in the coverage for 5 year/100,000 Powertrain Limited Warranty  is all SRT vehicles (including Viper), Ram 2500 and 3500 diesel trucks, as well as police, limo, taxi, ambulance, postal, rental and government (Fleet) vehicles.

Those vehicles excluded are all Sprinters and Ram Chassis Cabs. Excluded vehicles will have a 3 year/36,000 mile Basic Limited Warranty regardless of ownership. Cummins Engines will continue to have a 5 year/100,000 mile warranty regardless of ownership.

2010 Model Year - USA 5/100 Powertrain Warranty

For the 2010 model year, Chrysler's "Lifetime Powertrain Limited Warranty will be replaced by a 5 year/100,000 Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage.

Key Facts:

  1. US will have a 5 year/100,000 Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage.  (Exceptions listed below.)
  2. The 5 year/100,000 Powertrain Limited Warranty  coverage will "go with the vehicle, so there will be no need to do warranty transfers and there will be no charge to second/subsequent owners to continue the warranty beyond the original owner.
  3. There will be no deductible charge for repairs in the 5 year/100,000 Powertrain Limited Warranty  coverage period.
  4. For all vehicles, the remaining warranty coverage's will remain unchanged.
    • Basic Warranty will remain at 3 years/36,000 miles
    • Corrosion coverage is 5 years/100,000 miles
    • Air Bag coverage is 3 years/36,000 miles
    • Emissions coverage is 3 years/36,000 miles
    • Adjustments coverage is 3 years/36,000 miles
    • Air Conditioning coverage is 3 years/36,000 miles
    • Extended Federal Emissions coverage is 8 years/80,000 miles
    • Sprinter
    • Ram Diesel Chassis Cab
    • Sterling trucks, NM Raider (Mitsubishi), RM Routan (VW)
    • Company Car vehicles

The warranty coverage for these vehicles will be unchanged for the 2010 model year.

The following vehicles were exceptions to Lifetime Powertrain coverage, but will be
included in the 5 year/100,000 Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage:

       - Police, limo, taxi, ambulance, postal, rental and government (Fleet) vehicles
